Global Tampa Bay’s Economic Partnership Mission to Dublin, Ireland
Global Tampa Bay (GTB) successfully led an Economic Partnership Mission to Dublin, Ireland from May 12–15, 2026, bringing together a diverse delegation of regional leaders from economic development, government, healthcare, and private industry. The mission aimed to strengthen international relationships, advance foreign direct investment (FDI), and promote collaboration across key sectors including healthcare, trade, tourism, and entrepreneurship.
The mission delivered strong outcomes across multiple strategic priorities. Targeted FDI meetings with Irish companies identified a robust pipeline of firms actively exploring U.S. expansion, several of which expressed interest in Florida as a preferred location. These companies span high-growth industries such as artificial intelligence, fintech, advanced manufacturing, and biopharmaceuticals, positioning the Tampa Bay region as a competitive destination for international investment.
Formal programming throughout the mission facilitated meaningful engagement with Irish government officials, academic leaders, and business stakeholders. Key highlights included healthcare collaboration discussions at Trinity College Dublin, trade and policy meetings with the Department of Enterprise, Tourism, and Employment, and a tourism-focused luncheon showcasing opportunities to expand transatlantic travel and economic exchange.
The delegation also gained valuable insights into Ireland’s innovation ecosystem, including support models for startups and “soft landing” programs designed to help international companies establish a presence in new markets. These learnings provide actionable strategies to enhance regional economic development efforts.
In addition to direct business outcomes, the mission generated positive visibility and engagement through social media and international media coverage, strengthening Global Tampa Bay’s global profile. The initiative also reinforced partnerships with key stakeholders, including Tampa International Airport, who sponsored the mission.
